Abstract
Accelerated urbanisation is highly impacting our world in economic, social and environmental dimensions which therefore necessitates reexamination of the ways in which cities are provisioned with food and water as well as other essential goods and services; By 2050, the world will need to double its urban capacity which leads to increasing the needs of the people and creating challenges for food production and security, the climate change is posing additional challenges too, affecting cities and their surrounding areas. On another hand, the urban tissue of the city is slowly changing along with the physiological changement in the needs of the society.
Many industrial areas in the city who once in a time had a purpose, after the post-fordist transition became abandoned with no planning, leaving behind bronwfields waiting to be regenerated
