How to implement a systemic design strategy in Cyprus island

The thesis proposes the implementation of the systemic design methodology to design a new strategy in the Cypriot context, aiming to improve the island resilience shifting from a linear to a circular economy. The start-up of a new ecosystem, consisting of the goat dairy industry and that of Posidonia Oceanica seagrass management, generates an innovative environment capable of impacting various industrial sectors by creating local value. A holistic approach was used to analyze the region, highlighting Cyprus’ strengths and weaknesses. The systemic approach becomes a fundamental tool for the improvement and development of the territory from an economic, social and environmental point of view. The final strategy aims to develop guidelines and criteria for further interventions in the Cypriot agri-food sector.
