Abstract:

The scope of the thesis is the evaluation and the analysis of the HSLC technology both from technical and business perspective. An extensive research of the current applications developed with HSLC technology will be performed identifying the main requirements in terms of process parameters and machinery configuration. In addition, the technical specifications of a HSLC machinery system will be obtained and its integration in industrial environment will be discussed. Finally, a techno-economical study will be performed in order to investigate the potentiality of the technology in the additive market and its advantages over conventional Direct Energy Deposition (DED), Hard Chrome Plating (HCP) and Thermal Spray (TS) repair/coating process technique.
