Abstract:

In the actual context of growth of energy demand and sensibility to topics of sustainable development, in the environmental, economic and social spheres, the development and research of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell technologies, and hydrogen technologies in general, presents a concrete possibility to improve the capability to satisfy the needs of a market whose global relevance is stronger than ever, while meeting the requirements imposed from the legislators. The goal of this work is to propose a selection of strategies and evaluate their effectiveness for recovering and recycling the materials from end-of-life Solid Oxide Fuel Cell anodes. In particular, the possibility to obtain raw materials, in form of powders from the disassembling and treatment of the cells, that are suitable to be utilized for the production of new cells through hydrothermal treatments will be investigated.
