Abstract
By considering a domain formed by a geological basin crossed by several complex layers and faults, each of these interfaces provided by a cloud of points, the candidate manages to detect for each surface its border points and then he creates a transfinite surface controlled by the behaviour of the boundaries which is parametrized in a square and approximates the given points. A numerical minimization steepest descent is then used in order to minimize for each point of the original cloud its distance from the transfinite surface by computing their projection corresponding to the right 2D parametric coordinates of the surface.
The worst points, meaning the ones that present the greatest distance from their projection, are taken together with some boundary points and then a 2D triangular mesh is created on transfinite surface parametric coordinates by using triangle
