Abstract:

The study proposes a methodology for the creation of a finite element model with the aim of studying the dynamic behavior of a wheel assembly in a racing motorcycle. With this in mind, it is necessary to make the best choices to create a simple yet complete and representative model of reality. To this end, the study presents the problems encountered, associated with many finite elements analyses, as well as the choices made. The first step was the separate study of each main component, followed by the analysis of the complete assembly. The ensuing results show that the methodology followed allows for the creation of a simple model which well represents part of the problem. Based on this, it is advisable to continue to follow this methodology considering that, to better investigate the modeling of the tyre, further experimental tests are necessary for the validation of the models.
