Under the background of Industry 4.0, the transformation and upgrading of industrial heritage is an important embodiment of responding to the national "Made in China 2025" strategy. This study has made a tentative response to how to adapt to and stimulate the urbanization sustainable renovation and renewal of industrial heritage of giant buildings in cities, focusing on the thinking in the field of architecture and exploring operable renovation and renewal strategies. Compared with historic or non-historic old buildings, old industrial buildings mainly have the following characteristics: unique design concept, high aesthetic value, strong main structure, wide space and large volume, which will be detrimental to the environment.
