Abstract:

The objective of the thesis is to determine an optimal cost estimation model for industrial metrology equipment that can be subsequently deployed on R&D and product innovation functions. The present work also intends to give a broad perspective of the concept of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and the underlying product cost management principles and cost estimation techniques.
