Rel. Paolo Landoni, Davide Viglialoro. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering And Management), 2021

Abstract:

Over the past decade many types of incubators have been introduced to support the creation of startups. This paper aims at introducing a new type of incubator: the Startup Studio. The Startup Studio sustains startups not only by providing traditional incubation services but also by working as one of the founders. This exploratory study aims to understand the distinctive peculiarities of the Startup Studio. In particular, the Research Questions (RQs) of this study are: What is a Startup Studio? How do Startup Studios operate? How do they differ from incubators and Venture Capitalists (VCs)?
