Abstract: |
The work of this thesis is placed in the context of the phenomenon known as "energy transition", which has been going on for several years all over the world. In fact, factors such as global warming, climate change and the problems of air pollution due to the emissions of hazardous substances are pushing public authorities to promote the generation of energy from renewable sources. In this scenario, a fundamental role is played by policies in the field of sustainability. In particular, for geographical and political reasons that granted very favorable incentives, Italy is positioned among the best producing countries in the world for the generation of solar photovoltaic energy. Photovoltaics is an efficient system for generating renewable electricity as the primary source on which this technology is based is the sun, which does not represent a primary cost. In this context I embraced a working experience during which I was able to develop my Master's Degree thesis at Sanlorenzo Spa, a shipbuilding company specialized in the production of yacht boats from 24 to 70 meters. The management has decided to install a photovoltaic solar system on the roof of two sheds of this factory to power the production utilities. My job was to place this industrial reality in the context of photovoltaics, to evaluate the producibility and economic benefits of the various installation possibilities and to make some assessments on energy storage to store the energy produced in excess. |
