Abstract
The document proposes an algorithm for autonomous efficiency map generation which is intended to be of particular interest for the validation phase of the characteristics of an electric motor. A LabVIEW program has been developed to test a motor in all its working points by acquiring speed, torque, voltage and current, furthermore the program autonomously, once defined the characteristics of the motor, the required measurement region and the test execution parameters, generates the efficiency map of the motor under test. Program development is carried out in two main steps: Software-in-the-Loop step in which the algorithm is developed and tested in a virtual environment and Hardware-in-the-loop step in which, after validating the SIL, it connects the developed program to the test bench to test it in a real environment: the program has been validated with a simulation on an SMPM electric motor.
The first chapter of the document analyzes the state of the art of the test benches and the methodologies used for the test of electric motors with specific attention to the automotive field, the second chapter describes the hardware and software equipment used in the development of the project, illustrating its limits and advantages
