Abstract:

Design from scratch of a finite element model for the Euro NCAP frontal crash test barrier, Moving Progressive Deformable Barrier. The model is characterized in LS-Dyna by honeycomb blocks built with hexa elements, MODIFIED_HONEYCOMB material and an adequate failure criteria. The goal of the this work is designing a less computing-intensive barrier, compared to the reference one provided by LSTC.
