Abstract
Country effect: study of the competitiveness of different markets Companies’ final aim is to generate value among customers creating meaningful products. The process that is in charge of transforming ideas in tangible products is called Product Development Process (PDP). The PDP can be broken down in four stages: A.??Concept generation and development phase B.??Product development and engineering phase C.??Process development and engineering phase D.??Pre-series production and production ramp up phase Process During all those phases, cost management takes an important role. Controlling and optimizing costs all over the product development process is fundamental but the biggest decisions are made at the very beginning steps.
Indeed, during the first months the concept is delineated, the road map is decided and the margin target is set by the finance department
