Analysis of the Fratelli Carli’s quality performance in the production process.

Rel. Domenico Augusto Francesco Maisano. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale (Engineering And Management), 2019

Abstract:

After having presented the current control system for the weighing phase, a statistical data analysis has been performed in order to understand whether the process is in control and if there are assignable causes that introduce additional variability to it. Therefore, from the analysis of the obtained control charts, it has emerged that the most critical source of error is represented by the raw materials. In order to address this issue, two tailored corrective actions have been provided: the introduction of a RFID System, enabling a reliable tracking of the items in the overall process, and the implementation of incoming quality controls, with the intent of intercepting the raw material non-conformities before letting them flow into the process. To conclude, those solutions will enhance the performance of the company in terms of productivity, accuracy and profitability by saving time and money thanks to a faster and earlier detection of errors.
