Abstract:

In the context of the latest advances in the automotive industries, specially the future of the worldwide-connected car, a strong interest in security inside the car's own intravehicular network has arisen in the last decade. Previously, a malicious third party required to be physically connected to the car itself in order to access the network, however, with the advent of the fore mentioned technologies, the attack surfaces of the vehicules will be greatly increased and easily exposed to the world. For this, a simple, elegant and practical solution is required and its like that how ValidNET is born as an ongoing project of the Zirak S.r.l. embedded department, with the aim of producing a plug and play device which experimentally implements an analyze/manager of the most common intravehicular network: CAN. The project will provide means for validation of well known existing nodes as well as giving the user the ability to configure it's own test or perform a test over the robustness of the whole network.
