Abstract:

• Objective: the aim of this work is to test the performance of the bio-signal amplifier g.HIamp Research in the ophthalmological field, by comparison with the current commercial device used by Retimax CSO. In detail, the study is aimed at the collection and analysis of pr-VEPs, reversal patterns Visual Evoked Potentials, bio-potentials obtained through appropriate visual stimulation of the subject. • Materials & Methods: the two devices use two different stimulation systems: in particular, at g.HIamp Research, the Epson Moverio BT-200 Smart glasses, a portable and economical visual stimulation system, were added. The EEG signals, obtained by stimulation and taken by electrodes positioned according to standard 10/20, are sent to the bio-amplifier that records and processes them through the software g.Recorder associated with it. This is followed by further Matlab processing that highlights the characteristics of the waves obtained, in terms of amplitude and latency. • Results & Future Goals: the work ends with a robust statistical analysis through which the results obtained with the two devices and systems of stimulation on both healthy and pathological subjects are compared. The results show a good correlation especially among the data relating to healthy subjects: the future objective is to obtain valid results also on pathological subjects through hardware and software improvements of the current system proposed.
