Abstract:

The thesis focuses on advanced methods of failure analysis for automotive components, including macroscopic examination, non-destructive testing, microscopic analysis, mechanical testing, chemical analysis and numerical (finite element) methods. Moreover, the fracture of a component of a constant–velocity joint is investigated with several methods and it is ultimately attributed to the over-tightening of the hub nut.
