Abstract:

This work conducts an empirical investigation on the relationship between inflows of foreign direct investment (FDI) and economic growth in the economies of the sub-Saharan African region. The analysis uses a fixed-effect model on a panel of 45 countries in the period 1990-2016. Our results do not allow us to conclude about the existence of a statistically significant relationship between FDI flows and economic growth of the countries in the region.
