The goal of this thesis work is the development of a real-time application which has to work inside an automatic test environment. The application will run on a micro-controller as a server, receiving data and instructions from a user workstation and managing the test logic. Starting from a prototype version of the program, the application will be improved and migrated to the real-time domain using Xenomai, a free and open framework which brings POSIX and traditional RTOS(Real-Time Operating System) capabilities for porting time-critical applications to Linux-based platforms.
