Abstract:

Data Collection has been done through the use of WiFi frequencies to detect number of devices in a bus. After processing the collected information, the data provides the passenger count on buses in specific routes of the bus. This can then compared with the data obtained using Automatic Passenger count system(APC), which uses Infra-red for counting the number of passengers. Finally, the processed data is used to derive mobility patterns of passengers using Public Transport and the final validation for accuracy of the processed data is done by comparing it with data collected manually by travelling in the bus.
