Abstract This master thesis is about the challenges faced by the European Union in Industry and the steps that should be taken to overcome the rising incumbents. Industry 4.0 is the answer for the developed countries. A case study is included about a leading company in the automotive sector to show the system it implemented and the effect of the digitalization on its supply chain.
