Abstract:

Tone mapping is an essential step in the image processing pipeline to map the luminance of the input image to the reference display for desired image quality. This mapping might introduce some color distortion since the luminance and chrominance are not always well separated and modifying one can affect the other. For some application preserving the color of the real world scene is important. This internship investigates this aspect aiming at finding a tone mapping solution that maintain the color fidelity.
