Abstract: |
A System Dynamics model is developed in order to study management policies that could lead to an increase in capacity of the Dubai Logistics Corridor thanks to investments and port profits. Additional objectives include assessing if there is a ‘capacity bottleneck’ among SEA, AIR and LAND transportation and thus trying to solve or balance it. This work is focused on the Causal Loop Diagram CLD, the first stage of the SD methodology with the aim of assessing the causal relationship between variables, and on the Stock & Flow S&F, the quantitative part where the simulation are submitted. First of all, the logistic system of Dubai will be mentioned, thanks to its strategic position and the free trade zones. A brief introduction on the functioning of dynamic systems is inserted with the aim of enabling the reader to fully understand the model. |
