Abstract: |
The objective of this document is to explore the design of a simulative analog of a space habitat, intended as a platform for testing and validating various technologies to advance knowledge in human space exploration. The design process follows the ARCADIA, Architecture Analysis and Design Integrated model-based Approach, which, in recent years, has proven to provide a clear, precise, and fast way to manage and modify projects. This model-based approach is implemented using the modeling software CAPELLA™. Following a comprehensive analysis of the working context, the project begins with a theoretical phase, during which objectives, functions, and corresponding components are defined. It then proceeds with the development of several models in CAPELLA™, focusing on the initial stages of the design methodology: Operational Analysis and System Analysis, as well as a portion of the third stage, Logical Analysis. Given the complexity and scope of the project, these stages serve as a foundational framework for future developments, which will include the completion of the Logical Analysis, the implementation of the Physical Architecture, and further refinements and improvements of the existing models. |
