Abstract: |
This thesis aims to analyze the design and development of a mobile application for iOS devices. The project was carried out in collaboration with Concept Engineering Reply. The thesis provides a detailed overview of the project and the functionalities implemented in the application, with an analysis of the libraries used and an explanation of specific Swift language constructs relevant to the development process. The discussion concludes with an overall evaluation of the work completed and a look at potential future developments, including possible improvements and integrations. The application is designed to monitor and analyze performance during track driving sessions. Users can create new circuits by recording GPS points along the track and later record driving sessions, collecting data on position and calculating lap times, speeds, and trajectories. Additionally, the application allows users to store statistics from each session, enabling them to analyze their performance and observe their progress over time. One of the main challenges was integrating the application with CarPlay, as Apple only allows applications that fall within specific categories, such as navigation or audio, to access the platform and provides standard templates with limited customization options. Nevertheless, it was possible to create a functioning interface that displays the track and the user’s position on the car’s screen, using an existing template. As of now, however, the application is not yet authorized for use with CarPlay, a limitation that could be revisited in future developments as Apple’s guidelines evolve. |
