Abstract
In recent years, the evolution of autonomous vehicles has led to a growing interest in advanced braking systems, such as brake-by-wire (BBW), which offer significant advantages in terms of efficiency, safety, and maintenance. This thesis focuses on the modeling and simulation of a brake-by-wire (BBW) system using the MATLAB and Simulink environment. The main objective of this thesis is to develop a detailed model of the BBW system, based on electromechanical brakes (EMB), design an advanced control strategy, and integrate this into a BEV model, validating the system through simulations. The adopted methodology initially includes the design of the EMB system, with the creation of an accurate mathematical model of its main components, including the electric motor, the actuation system, and the control electronics.
Subsequently, the EMB model is integrated into a complete BEV model to simulate the system's response to various operating conditions, accurately representing the vehicle's dynamic behavior
