Abstract: |
The dramatic increase of the global average temperature due to the extensive use of fossil fuels has determined the need for a route change, leading to the adoption of technologies capable of negative impact on CO2 emissions. In this framework, biochar represents one of the most effective solutions as permanent Carbon Dioxide Removal. This thesis investigates the production of biochar from cocoa shells, a biomass waste from food industry, its application as soil conditioner and its potential as carbon offset credits according to the Puro Earth standard methodology. |
