Abstract: |
Nowadays the main challenge of the aeronautical industry is to produce more and more efficient aircraft with a lower environmental impact. For this reason a great effort is focused on producing engines that combine high performance and reliability with an high efficiency. The overall improvement of the engine implies an improvement of its components, including the low pressure turbine.\\ The development of these components starts from the design and ends with the certification. This process is quite long and all the manual operations performed by users often act as a bottleneck. This thesis work, carried out in collaboration with GE Avio Aero, has the aim of optimizing some processes that are necessary in the development of a new component. In particular, some aspects related to the field of modal analysis of bladed discs have been considered: - having the right mesh order for this kinf of analysis; - optimizing several post processing activities; - improving the process of test data collection. So, the ultimate goal was to speed up and improve these processes. |
