New cellulosic material combined with biopolymers for packaging.
Rel. Marco Sangermano. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Dei Materiali, 2023
Abstract: |
Nowadays environmental issues are a main concern. In fact, the world is facing a critic situation regarding the climate change and plastic pollution. For this reason, solutions need to be found quickly and in particular, petroleum-based materials need to be replaced with more sustainable alternatives. In this context, the project is aiming on finding a sustainable alternative material to plastic for packaging application. Cellulosic materials are used for this purpose and mixed with biopolymers at different concentrations. The main focus of the project is to evaluate the influence of the biopolymers on the properties of the final cellulosic materials, with a particular attention at the rheological properties. It was also evaluated the feasibility of the production of the material through hot-press process and then it was done a characterization on the final material. |
