Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to study a vehicle humidification system. Stating from the experimental tests of a commercial humification system, two different model has been developed for the CFD to analyze the pressure drop and velocity inside the channel. After having built and simulated the models, comparisons will be performed between the two solutions performing a sensitivity analysis of the expected performances of the humidifier based on the value found. To perform the analysis the software chosen is ANSYS and the methodology used is the substitution of the channels with porous media to limit the needed resources for the computation. In the conclusion, further consideration about which of the two would be the best choice to be equipped on fuel cell vehicle would be presented.
