Abstract:

In the industry, supply chain management has proven both to be an effective research topic and as a strategy to optimize logistic processes, reduce costs, and improve performance. Today companies in particular and supply chains, in general, compete more and more based on quality and time. In order to take advantage of international markets, companies are increasingly internationalizing both in terms of manufacturing and distribution. Hence, there is constant discussion in supply chain fields regarding how to manage the organization and what would be the ideal level of centralization. This report aims to study the reasons and motivations behind opting the centralization and to analyze the process and steps used to implement the centralization project and finally investigate if the new approach is bringing the expected outcomes and effects.
