The aim of this thesis is monitoring of vehicle delivery process and delay management for Finnish market case at FCA. This thesis has been prepared the reason for company wants to overcome order delays and enhance the service level respect criticalities obtained by interview. Therefore, it is developed a Dashboard to warn people how many days left for the next shipment according to Grimaldi Group’s shipment schedule, to prevent the missing of the ship's departure date. These subjects are linked to topic of the job, monitoring vehicle deliveries and reducing delivery delays. This thesis is written thanks to an internship in FCA at Order Management and Logistic Department from October 2019 to end of March 2020. Relevant quantitative data for year 2019 and 2020 are retrieved from internal data sources for this thesis. The performed literature review highlights a big presence of work regarding the outbound logistic process, how delivery process can be improved through development of service level and implementation of tracking technology. The research focuses on enhancing the service quality provided to customers by preventing delays and reducing lead-time with benefitting the IT capabilities. The second chapter presents with a short sketch of FCA where the study is executed and will provide information about the company's brands, production plants, compounds and ports with outbound logistic view. The company’s distribution channels, the main actors and activities from Order to Delivery process is drawn. The third chapter will expose the current situation of outbound logistic for Finnish market and the definition of main the activities from logistic body for this market. By examining the system with SWOT analysis, strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities are identified. The reasons of delay are investigated. Following this, the focus will be placed on the two main activities that are carried out such as transportation monitoring (follow up) and delays management. Understanding better the situation of Finnish market by analyzing logistics processes regarding dealer requests, and preventing delays thanks to a new Dashboard are detected beneficial for dealer and FCA side. Using this Dashboard for all other markets is suggested for next steps. |
