| Abstract: |
LEO satellites are characterized by lower latency with respect to GEO satellites, as they orbit much closer to the earth. Because of that, their orbital period is very short and they remain in sight of ground users just for a few minutes. Thus, handovers are very frequent and there is need for an optimized handover strategy. The thesis will consider possible handover strategies from the literature and, in a realistic dynamical setting, evaluate their performance, also introducing some original improvements to such strategies. |
