The Development and Commercialization of a new Digital Service in the Oil & Gas industry. The case of Baker Hughes: OneView

The present thesis has been developed within the framework of the Master’s Degree in Industrial Production Engineering and Technological Innovation at Politecnico di Torino and is the result of a curricular internship carried out at Baker Hughes, one of the global leaders in energy technology. The internship experience provided the opportunity to work within the Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) division, with a specific focus on service and maintenance processes for turbomachinery and the development of innovative digital tools supporting industrial asset management. The main objective of this work is to analyze the development and commercialization of a new digital service, OneView, conceived by Baker Hughes to enhance operational reliability, improve maintenance strategies, and foster closer integration between digital monitoring and human expertise. The research explores the industrial and technological context in which the service was developed, the challenges addressed, and the strategic rationale underpinning its implementation and commercial deployment.
