Abstract: |
In the dynamic and complex landscape of the chemical industry and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, effective performance management is crucial for sustaining operational efficiency and achieving strategic goals. Companies receive great amounts of data, and turning this data into actionable insights is a significant challenge. This is where visual dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) become indispensable tools. Visual dashboards are powerful tools that transform complex data sets into intuitive visual formats like graphs, charts, and maps. These dashboards simplify the process of data analysis by presenting information in a clear, accessible manner, which enhances the user's ability to quickly grasp key insights and make informed decisions. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are quantifiable measures that assess the success of an organization, project, or individual in achieving specific objectives. They serve as benchmarks for performance, providing a clear picture of how well activities align with the strategic goals. The integration of KPIs into visual dashboards amplifies their utility. This combination not only highlights the most important metrics but also presents them in a way that is easy to interpret and act upon. Dashboards displaying KPIs enable organizations to focus on key areas, streamline operations, and ensure that strategic goals are met efficiently and effectively. This is why, in this work of thesis, it is presented the review of the visual dashboard currently used by the Supply Planning team of a company in the chemical sector for weekly and yearly performance discussions. The developed framework aims to provide clearer, more actionable insights, enabling more informed decision-making and better alignment with the firm’s goals. The proposed dashboard improvements will provide precise insights for managing inventory and projects, enhancing decision-making for both planners and top management. |
