Abstract:

This thesis focuses on making an independent application for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, using Kotlin as the main programming language within the Android Studio environment. Initially, the project was conceived in Java, but following Google’s guidelines for Wear OS applications, it was converted to Kotlin. The main purpose of the application is to monitor an individual’s health parameters, especially heart rate (HR) and accelerometer data, and issue warnings in case of potential risks during a driving session. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was chosen for its ability to connect to the Internet independently, allowing versatile data analysis and real-time monitoring. The application continuously records HR and accelerometer data, providing a complete view of an individual’s physical activity and current state. Data changes are analyzed, and users are alerted to potentially dangerous states while driving, improving safety through vibration. All data is recorded for further analysis. User interface design (UI) plays a crucial role in ensuring an intuitive and user friendly experience. The application updates the heart rate and accelerometer data and records information with a frequency of 0.5 Hz (every 2 seconds). In addition, the system implements data collection on the cloud server via the MQTT protocol for long-term data analysis, improving the study of user health parameters. This project represents a significant advance in the integration of wearable technology during driving sessions, with the aim of improving customer safety.
