Abstract: |
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the impact of Business Intelligence's emergence and subsequent evolution in the business environment. In a setting where organisations must be able quickly evaluate enormous volumes of data in order to remain competitive, tools like BI become essential, even if they are not always simple to implement, particularly in smaller businesses. Through an examination of a business case addressed during the curricular internship period, as well as an investigation of the notion of business intelligence, its historical context factors, and the IT architecture on which it is built, this work has investigated in depth the characteristics and application of the "Board international" Business Intelligence software. In addition to what has already been stated, a chapter of this thesis was entirely dedicated to studying some of the research conducted to identify the true impacts that BI software has on the companies who utilise it. |
