The thesis shows an overview of the environmental legislation REACH and in detail the modalities of how the law is applied. In the second part a distinction between "Porter’s Hypothesis" and the concept of "Greenwashing" with particular attention to the variables that influence the choices of ecological consumption by consumers. Finally, in the last section, a comparative analysis between Europe and the United States of eco-toxicological standards in the textile, clothing, leather, and footwear sectors.
