Abstract: |
Manufacturing companies are for sure one of the most important drivers for the Italian economy. In the last two years the Covid-19 pandemic creates lots of challenges for all the medium and large companies that found themselves in a global competition with a limited number of resources available. Some sectors, as the automotive one, suffer this crisis more than others due to limitation in the movements of people. Also climate change shift the attention on consumptions and forces companies to adapt to the legislations regarding resources wasting and carbon emissions in the production. In this context stands Speedline S.R.L, a venetian company that manufactures wheels for the most famous car brands. Speedline understands the necessity to optimize the use of resources in these difficult times and focus its effort to improve the critical processes always looking at the costs and at the value creation for customers. Speedline gives a lot of importance on the production and works efficiently every day to improve it. In this thesis, starting from the analysis of the productivity of the paint shop department, is explored one of the most critical sub-system in order to increase its reliability and productivity. As the title says, is performed an FMEA analysis of this system working in collaboration with the maintenance technicians. The team deeply analyse the automated wheels’ transhipment system between two process lines in order to understand all the possible failure modes. For each failure mode than are explored the failure causes with their probability of happening and level of detectability. All this procedure is done with the aim of increase the productivity and quality of the system and prevent possible future failures. After the analysis are presented and explained the corrective actions taken to increase the availability of the system and to prevent future failures discovering the importance of employee’s experience and training in the development of sustainable interventions. |
