Abstract: |
The document is the result of an ongoing and wider collaboration between the Politecnico di Torino and Edison S.p.A., main player in the energy sector. The project aims to study the economic and technical feasibility of a specific V2G application. This thesis covers the beginning of the experimental part of the project, focusing on the charging station testing and the laboratory setup. At the Energy Center Lab the test laboratory has been set up to perform the Power-Hardware-In-The-Loop methodology using the charging station, capable of V2G application, as the device under test. In order to correctly carry out the PHIL experiments on the charging station, all the instruments have been previously tested: Real-Time Simulator, Power Amplifier, Electronic Load (which replaced the charging station in the preliminary phase of the project). While the components were added in the PHIL configuration, the simulation environment has been implemented as a Simulink model. Afterwards the measurement systems were implemented as a means to record and then process the measured data. For this purpose sensors, current probes and a data acquisition system have been used. Finally the V2G charging station has been tested with an open loop chain. Firstly, its basic characteristics and firmware functions were evaluated. Then some regulated test have been performed to verify the compliance of the charging station for connection to the grid and V2G feasibility. |
