Performance analysis and comparison between innovative startups and innovative startups with a social goal. An overview of the Italian ecosystem.

This thesis aims to compare the economic performance of social innovation startups with that of innovation startups without a declared social aim, in order to investigate whether or not the fact of operating with social goals affects the performance of the startup. In order to do so, we started in the first chapter with a literature review, identifying the various components of the social entrepreneurship world, and then, in the second chapter, analysing in more detail the concept of social innovation and especially of Corporate Social Innovation. In the third chapter, we then dealt theoretically with the subject of regression analysis, the tool used to carry out our analyses, giving a general overview of the various types of regression that exist in order to understand which was the most suitable for our purposes. Finally, in the fourth chapter we show the methodology of the study, firstly by analysing the composition of the database used for our analyses, and then by focusing on the various regression models proposed. In the fifth and final chapter we aim to show the conclusions deriving from the analysis of the results obtained in the fourth chapter, making some final considerations on the world of social innovation startups. At the end of the thesis, it will be possible to consult an appendix containing some graphs of the independent variables used in the various regression models and, above all, the expanded results of the regression analyses carried out using the STATA software.
