Gamma processes and their applications

Speaking about engineering structures and infrastructures, a key problem is the optimization of maintenance, because the amount of money spent for it during the last decades has increased a lot. Various mathematical models have been studied and proposed; gamma processes' usage has increased since their introduction, because they have proven to perform well. After analyzing their mathematical properties, they are implemented in code and tested with arbitrary parameters to check the performances, and then applied to two case studies.
