Works on the rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment plant and the monitoring of the construction of an anaerobic digestion unit.

For six months I have following the project of the construction of an anaerobic digestion unit. From the receipt of the construction authorization to the beginning of the work on the construction site. My internship began the March 2nd and has been maintained in teleworking during the confinement, from March 16thto the June 2nd, I finished it on the 28th of August. In fact, I worked for the VEOLIA WATER enterprise in the headquarter in the city of Valence in the south of France; VEOLIA has a public delegation contract with the city of Valence in France. In France, the adoption of an environmental policy leads the cities to develop renewable energy, that is why the city of Valence has decided to build an anaerobic digester. With this delegated contract VEOLIA is in charge of the running of the wastewater treatment plant, consequently also of the construction of the digester and the rehabilitation work on the plant. The rehabilitation works concern the existing wastewater treatment plant and they will modify the water network, the sludge network, the air network. Every structure composing the wastewater treatment plant will be modified. All these works are a big investment for example the construction of the anaerobic digestion represents 10 989 540 euros exclusives of tax. The rehabilitation works for the Densadeg represents 700 000euros exclusives of tax and the deodorization of 100 000euros exclusives of tax. During my mission I work on the construction site throughout the weekly meeting, I could follow the construction that has begun in June 2020. When I was not at the construction site, I was working on the rehabilitation works such as the creation of a call for tender to put in functioning the deodorization of the entire plant. I worked also on another subject the Densadeg. To explain the wastewater treatment plant is also composed of a rainy treatment building, the Densadeg, until now it was used only during the rainy episodes, and now it needs to be transformed into primary treatment, a lot of works need to be made on it (manholes creation, application of new concrete, resin, pipes renovation... ).
