Abstract: |
The objective of this thesis is to simulate the hydrocarbon transportation system and the behavior of the pressure profile, during the movement through a pipeline. This work involves Aspen plus and Olga software to design the model and go deep into the process parameters in order to predict the function of our system and analyze the various factors that affect the pressure profiles of modeling. My vision in this project is to analyze the various factor can cause energy loss along the hydrocarbon pipeline, I will focus on four main factors, Hydrocarbon flow rate, ambient temperature, pipeline inside diameter and pipeline material, These factors are analyzed in Aspen and Olga software that each of them has its special calculation parameters, I will consider the experimental data to compare the result with simulation. In order to define the oil properties in Software environment and design accurately the movement process which comprised of various equations, topography of the site, Proper property method and analyzing the optimum operation that varies in pressure drop profiles which are affected by different parameters have been considered. Furthermore, Pipeline Modeling with elevation profile for offshore pipeline and the process characteristics (flow rates, compositions, temperatures, pressures, properties, pipeline inside diameter and material) are supposed using analysis techniques. |
