Abstract: |
This thesis has been developed in collaboration with one of the companies leading the tyre-manufacturing industry worldwide: Michelin S.p.a. During these months, I had the opportunity to give a remarkable contribution to the success of one of the most important projects that Michelin is carrying on at European level: the BiBTrack Project. The project involves all functions in the downstream Supply chain and is proof of the investments that Michelin is undertaking to keep up with the digitalization disruption. The BiBTrack project indeed, has been developed with the purpose of strengthening the customer-centricity while adopting the benefits resulting from the exploitation of the digitalization in the downstream part of the company’s Supply Chain. Hence in being part of this project, Michelin gave me the chance to observe the overall functioning and management of the EDC of Turin, and to appreciate the philosophy of its customer service. This thesis then, has the intention to show how a company that has always been among the leaders in the industry for more than hundred years is readapting to face these disruptive changes brought by the digitalization. |
