Design and development of an informative dashboard to monitor urban tourism

The tourism industry can make an important contribution to the development of the city and allow better living conditions for its residents and visitors. Therefore, tourism managers should continuosly monitor the impact of the tourism in the social and economic development of cities in order to better address the main issues of tourist activities. This can be done starting from the collection and extraction of useful data that might provide significant indicators of the tourism effects on the economic growth of the city. Since data are heterogeneous and in many cases are very crude, it is necessary to find a way to easily explore them and create a visual representation of meaningful information. In this context, an informative dashboard has been developed to monitor urban tourism.
