Abstract:

This thesis aims to design an energetically, economically and environmentally sustainable strategy for GSE, a company involved in the field of road transport, organic waste treatments, waste collection & management. the company is mainly composed of two branches: the first one’s in charge of managing the organic treatment plant, and public wastewater treatment plants, the second one manages Logistics of Waste collection & Transport. In the next future, the company intends to innovate the way this services are exploited, especially in order to find new competitive and appealing solution for its customers. The main idea on which this thesis is involved is trying to finalize the best energy cycle as possible using available resources, transforming it in order to reduce consumption and increase revenue. In this dissertation, a set of possible improvement is provided, it’s up to the company to consider it at all, or just in part, in case that only a part of the whole concept would be considered as profitable. We will try to figure out a new way to set company strategy for the next 10 years, in compliance with EU directives for sustainable energy production, company efficiency strategies, road transport pollution prevention and waste management guidelines.
