Abstract: |
Design of a PMSM Field-Oriented Control Algorithm with Flux-Weakening for Battery Electric Vehicles: The main argument of the thesis is the design of a Field-Oriented Control algorithm with Flux-Weakening for aPermanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The development of the controller is based on LabVIEW FPGA language, using a model-based approach to create the block scheme and to run the autogenerated code on the Engine Control Unit SPARK of Alma Automotive. The realized control strategy is focused on possible automotive applications, discussing and facing in particular the issues related to battery electric vehicles (BEVs).For this project, both interior permanent magnet and surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous machines have been considered, analysing their behaviour with a torque-loop and a speed-loop control mechanism. At the beginning the models of the plant and of the controller have been implemented on the Field Programmable Gate Array integrated circuit of the board, while the user interface – with all the commands and the programmable parameters – has been flashed on the real-time module of the board. This thesis is focused on the automotive applications of this kind of motors and FOC algorithm to manage them, analysing the solutions for different operating conditions. In the final part of the project, the behaviors of battery management system and dashboard are simulated is developed, and the CAN communication protocol is implemented, in order to show the results. |
