Introducing the concept of critical raw material and the the manifestation of this issue on the global scale, which existed historically but gained again global attention within the last decade after the last economic crisis of 2008 ; we indicate the important and diverse methods employed for the assessment of this issue by different entities , each having their own scope; then we realize an assessment for the supply risk of essential raw materials for the functioning of the drilling sector in the oil and gas industry, using a company oriented method, the result is compared with the findings of other studies with recommendation for further improvement.
