Abstract:

Part of a larger project, the thesis focuses on the determinants of the “last mile logistics” outlining the related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The last mile logistics concerns the last phase of the Supply Chain, in particular the final section of the delivery of a good, from the sorting center to the place indicated for the withdrawal. Different scenarios are then analysed, proposing the system of KPIs that better fits with each of them. Subsequently, the same methodology is applied in the context of a fast fashion company involved in the project, whose main aspects are analysed for outlining the most coherent system of Key Performance Indicators. It will be useful for depicting the level of integration between the last mile logistics and the rest of the Supply Chain to drive possible improvement actions. Moreover, it can be used as a baseline tool of analysis to be customized in accordance with the company’s goals, which could change over time.
